Andrew Wright, RA, NCARB, CSBA
PRINCIPAL

Andrew is the founder of Wright Architects and the heart behind our practice. Since launching the firm in Kingston back in 1986, he’s led hundreds of projects residential, commercial, and historic throughout the Northeast, all with a clear focus on quality, sustainability, and enduring design.
Before starting the firm, Andrew sharpened his skills at some of the most respected architecture offices in the country, including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in Chicago, Ittner & Bowersox in St. Louis, and HOK in New York City. Those early years gave him a strong foundation in both large-scale planning and meticulous detail something that still defines his work today.
Andrew holds a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University. He’s certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and licensed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, Illinois, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He’s also a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA), bringing a thoughtful, future-ready lens to every project.
Over the years, Andrew’s work has received multiple awards, including recognition from the AIA and preservation honors from Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts. But what we admire most is his commitment to craft, his steady leadership, and the way he shows up for each client and every project.
Wright Architects wouldn’t be what it is without him and we’re proud to build on the legacy he started.
