Sonia is our lead on all things sustainable and a huge part of what makes Wright Architects who we are. She brings a rare mix of design talent, technical expertise, and a deep commitment to building better, smarter, and more responsibly.

Originally from El Salvador, Sonia began her architectural studies in Guatemala and completed her degree in New York City at the New York Institute of Technology. She didn’t stop there she also holds an MBA in Sustainability and a graduate certificate in Real Estate Investment, which gives her a unique ability to balance thoughtful design with real-world development goals.

Over the years, Sonia has worked on everything from modest additions to large-scale, multi-million dollar projects across New York City and beyond. She’s led the design and execution of high-performance buildings that integrate geothermal systems, solar panels, and energy-saving technologies always with an eye toward long-term value and beauty.

Outside of the studio, Sonia is just as driven. She founded a nonprofit called TUMU, INC to help advance economic mobility, co-founded Mi Casita Daycare to support Hispanic families in her community, and serves as Treasurer for KThunder FC, a nonprofit soccer club that opens competitive opportunities for young players.

We’re proud to have Sonia leading the way in sustainable design and even prouder to call her part of our team.
